ATHENS, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Greeks and Chinese living in Greece are set to celebrate the 2021 Spring Festival, or Chinese New Year with a series of online events starting on Feb. 4 and running to Feb. 11, the eve of the most significant festival for Chinese people, according to the China Cultural Center in Athens.
The Center will support in Greece the online activities organized by the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism, according to a press release.
People in Greece are invited to log into the chinaculture.org website to follow the rich program of celebratory events for the 2021 Year of the Ox.
The program includes exhibitions on traditions of the festival, concerts, a Chinese New Year gourmet workshop, a virtual exhibition of the Chinese zodiac design and a performance of acrobatics on ice.
It also features a Chinese animation show, an exhibition on Chinese porcelain, Tai Chi and Kungfu workshops among others.
"Although the Spring Festival will be celebrated in a different manner compared to previous years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and family reunions will be difficult for many, the holiday spirit will transcend all borders and warmth and love will be still spread," organizers noted in the press statement.
"As the Greece-China Year of Culture and Tourism is also celebrated in 2021, we wish to our two peoples health, harmony and to continue cooperating closely to jointly build a better future," said the statement. Enditem
