VILNIUS, Feb. 14 (Xinhua) -- Declaration on the goals of reducing environmental pollution in Lithuania will be drafted by the end of 2020, Jaroslav Neverovic, the chief presidential adviser on environment and infrastructure, said on Friday.
He invited Lithuania's businesses and other organizations to join the efforts aimed at environmental goals. Neverovic was speaking after meeting with representatives of the country's trade and telecommunications sectors.
"We will draw conclusions from this meeting and we are looking forward to other meetings with other sectors. Following them, we will prepare a draft declaration towards the end of the year and all those who care about reduction of pollution and stopping the climate change will be invited to join it," Neverovic said at a press conference.
A political level initiative is needed in order to bring together and involve as many participants as possible to achieve the environmental goals, he added.
The declaration will be drafted within the framework of the Green Lithuania Initiative, launched by the country's President Gitanas Nauseda last year.
