BEIJING, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- The Beijing Symphony Orchestra will bring a concert of Chinese folk music to audiences in Beijing to mark the Spring Festival, or Chinese Lunar New Year.
The two-hour performance will be held on Jan. 15, 2020 at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA).
The musical ensemble's concert will mainly include Chinese folk music and orchestral music adapted from Chinese folk songs, such as Li Huanzhi's "Spring Festival Overture," Liu Tieshan and Mao Yuan's "Dance of the Yao People" and Jiangsu folk song "Jasmine Flower."
Conducted by Tan Lihua, who has conducted the Russian National Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the performance will bring joyous moments to audiences ahead of the jubilation of the traditional Chinese New Year.
