TEHRAN, Dec. 30 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Foreign Ministry on Monday condemned the U.S. airstrikes that targeted the positions of Kata'ib Hezbollah paramilitary group in Iraq.
"The U.S. attack is against the Iraqi sovereignty and territory," said Abbas Mousavi, spokesman of the ministry.
The attack is "a brazen example of terrorism," he added.
On Sunday, the U.S. military launched deadly airstrikes on three locations in Iraq and two in Syria controlled by Kata'ib Hezbollah.
"The targets included weapons storage facilities and command posts that were used to attack American and partner forces in Iraq," said Jonathan Hoffman, Pentagon spokesman.
