PARIS, Oct. 23 (Xinhua) -- A man who had made threats while he had been holed up in a museum in southern France early Wednesday, was arrested, Var prefecture said.
"Police operation is underway in archaeology museum of Saint-Raphael where a man was holed up. He has just been arrested," the prefecture tweeted.
"The security perimeter is maintained for further investigation," it added.
Early Wednesday, elite RAID police carried out an operation at the museum after being alerted by a housekeeper.
The man's identity and motive were unknown. But, local media reported he was believed to suffer from psychological troubles.
