Senior police officer among 6 killed in Afghan road accident

SARI PUL, Afghanistan, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Six people including a senior police officer died and 11 others wounded in a road accident in Afghanistan's northern Sari Pul province on Saturday, provincial police spokesman Munir Rahimi said.

"The deadly road accident took place on a road today morning and as a result six people including deputy to provincial police chief Abdul Sabour Andarabi were killed and 11 others injured," Rahimi told Xinhua.

Blaming reckless driving for the deadly accident, the official said that investigation has been initiated into the case, but did not provide more details.
