The volunteer teaching service is now a way to improve local teaching quality in remote areas in SW China.
CHONGQING, Sept. 7, 2019 (Xinhua) -- Mu Yi, a 25-year-old PE teacher from SW China's Chongqing Municipality, offers a week-long volunteer teaching service and works with a local teacher Tao Yao in Luzi, a remote village in Chengkou County of Chongqing.
In the school where only two second-grade students and 18 preschool children study, Mu Yi and Tao Yao also do other jobs as principals, cleaners, cooks and repairwomen. Mu Yi teaches children sports, art and music and tells them about the world outside the mountains, hoping them learn more new knowledge.
The volunteer teaching service is regarded as a way to bring new teaching methods and ideas to poverty-stricken areas and improve local teaching quality.
