KABUL, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Nine militants were arrested following operations in two Afghan provinces, the Command of the Country's Special Forces said Wednesday.
In one operation, security forces arrested seven Taliban militants in surrounding areas of Tirin Kot, capital of southern Uruzgan province on Tuesday night, Afghan National Army Special Operations Corps said in a statement.
The security forces also destroyed some weapons and ammunition during the operation.
In eastern Nangarhar, security forces captured two Islamic State (IS) militants in Bati Kot district early Monday, the statement said, adding that Abdul Rahman, an IS group bomb making expert was one of the detainees.
The detained militants were found to be involved in terror crimes and district attacks against security forces in two provinces.
