AMMAN, July 31 (Xinhua) -- King Abdullah II of Jordan on Wednesday received Jared Kushner, senior advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump, who is visiting Jordan as part of a regional tour, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
Discussing efforts to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the Jordanian leader stressed the need to achieve just, comprehensive and lasting peace on the basis of the two-state solution, which guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living side by side with Israel in peace and security.
According to the Jordanian king, such a solution needs to be in line with the Arab Peace Initiative, international law, and relevant UN resolutions.
