LASHKAR GAH, Afghanistan, July 23 (Xinhua) -- At least three militants including a group commander were killed as fighting aircraft pounded Taliban hideout in Marja district of the southern Helmand province on Monday, said an army statement released here Tuesday.
According to the statement, the killed Taliban commander has been identified as Farid who bears one name like many Afghans, and another fighter got injured in the air raids.
Taliban militants who are active in parts of the restive Helmand province are yet to make comment on the report.
