HOHHOT, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Police in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region cracked down on a drug-producing gang, seizing 17 suspects and more than one tonne of drug-making materials, the public security bureau of the city of Bayannur announced on Monday.
In July 2018, the Ministry of Public Security notified information about a drug case to the regional public security department. The tip led to an abandoned factory in a remote area of Bayannur, which was used as a drug-making factory.
The gang was busted and the factory was destroyed on July 29, 2018. About 1.022 tonnes of hydroxylamine were seized at the scene.
The details of the case were not disclosed until Monday. According to local police, it was the biggest drug case the Inner Mongolia police cracked in 2018.
