BEIJING, May 12 (Xinhua) -- The Buddhist Association of China hosted a commemorative event to observe the 2,643rd birth anniversary of the Buddha Sunday at the Lingguang Temple in Beijing.
The association will actively pass on China's fine traditional culture, said Master Yanjue, its vice president.
He added it will put into practice and carry forward the ethic and virtue from China's fine traditional culture, such as knowingly repaying the kindness, to better play Buddhism's role in refining moral values.
Lingguang Temple is renowned for its collection of the Buddha's tooth relic.
