WELLINGTON, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Fog shrouded major New Zealand cities including Auckland and Christchurch, with fog restrictions at Auckland Airport having cancelled 32 domestic flights and delayed 31 others.
Many passengers whose flights have been cancelled chose to switch to cars to get to their destination as long queues were seen at car rentals at the Auckland Airport.
The airport said international flights and flights to Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown had not been affected. It asked passengers to check updates on arrivals and departures.
The fog was expected to clear late morning on Saturday, according to MetService.
