BEIJING, April 19 (Xinhua) -- A book based on a silk road environmental research project by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), "Joint Construction of Green Silk Roads," has been published by The Commercial Press, according to a book launch event Friday.
It reviews the development process of the Belt and Road Initiative and expounds on the social, economic, resources and environmental background and features of regions along the Belt and Road routes, covering natural resources, ecosystems and biodiversity, climate change trends, disaster risks, as well as economic and trade cooperation.
The CAS set up the silk road environmental research project in early 2018. The project assesses resource and environmental issues in key countries and regions and proposes paths to the construction of a green silk road.
