SANTIAGO, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Chile coach Reinaldo Rueda accepted on Tuesday that his job could be on the line if the Roja fail to live up to expectations at this year's Copa America in Brazil.

Chile have won the past two editions of the world's oldest continental football tournament, triumphing as hosts in 2015 before defending their title at the centenary edition in the US the following year.

The 2019 Copa America will be played in Brazil from June 15 to July 7.

Rueda signed a four-year contract in January but said he is not taking his job for granted.

"We are being evaluated every match," the Colombian told reporters. "If after the Copa America we cannot continue, it will be a shame but we'll step aside. That's football."

Chile have been drawn in Group C for the Copa America alongside Ecuador, Japan and Uruguay.

Their first match of the tournament will be against Japan in Sao Paulo on June 17.
