SHANGHAI, March 29 (Xinhua) -- China's toy market volume reached 70.48 billion yuan (10.47 billion U.S. dollars) in 2018, up by 9 percent year on year, according to a report released Friday.
The industry report by China Toy and Juvenile Products Association showed that average toy consumption of children aged 0-14 reached 299.5 yuan in 2018, up by 8.2 percent year on year.
According to the association's survey on 20,000 consumers, 65.6 percent of the consumers are planning to increase their spending on toys in 2019, and 63.9 percent of the consumers are planning to spend more on juvenile products.
The report also noted a 15.9 percent surge in China's imports of traditional toys, showing strong demand from domestic consumers.
