BRATISLAVA, March 2 (Xinhua) -- Lucenec, a bottom ranked team of the Slovak Basketball League (SBL), became the dark horse of the 26th round played on Saturday. It unexpectedly crushed the second-placed team Levice 91-77.
Lucenec has been overshadowed by losses in this season. With the victory, Lucenec put an end to its 5-game losing streak.
Prior to Saturday's encounter, Lucenec had met Levice seven times with a 2-5 win-lose record.
Lucenec managed to win the first half and held the advantage to the end. Levice tried to claw back the points in the last quarter but it failed to turn game around.
DeAngelo Isby had 25 points and five rebounds, Duke Shelton had 20 points and nine rebounds, and Ike Agusi added 21 points. No player from Levice had more than 15 points.
Elsewhere in Saturday's SBL fixtures, Inter Bratislava thrashed Handlova 89-66 and Svit beat Komarno 79-74.
