BANGKOK, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Constitutional Court is scheduled to rule on March 7 whether a brand-new political party be dissolved for an alleged violation of relevant rule or not.

According to a statement issued by the court on Wednesday, it will judge the case of Thai Raksa Chart Party dissolution as petitioned by the Election Commission (EC) for the alleged wrongdoing viewed as "antagonistic to democratic rule with the monarch as head of state" in accordance with the constitution's organic law pertaining to political parties.

The court has obtained evidence filed by the EC in support of its accusations against the party alongside an affidavit of the party, thus it will need no hearing from either side ahead of the March 7 ruling, according to the statement.

If found guilty as charged, the party would not only be dissolved but all members of its executive board be banned from politics for a given period of time.
