WASHINGTON, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis will not play in the game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday after playing for limited time in Friday's game against the Indiana Pacers, the club announced.
Davis played 20 minutes in Friday's 126-111 loss against the Pacers, scoring 15 points and eight rebounds.
The club had already made it clear that Davis would see limited minutes in the rest of the season as New Orleans are focusing on the future of the team.
Davis decided not to re-sign with New Orleans when his contract ends after next season and asked for a transfer last month. The Pelicans, who failed to reach agreement with those teams interested in signing the star forward before the deadline of Feb. 7, plan to reduce his time on the court.
