DAMASCUS, Feb. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC) succeeded on Wednesday to deliver 133 truckloads of aid to Syrian refugees stranded in a camp on the Syrian-Jordanian border, state news agency SANA reported.

The aid convoys reached the Rukban camp near the al-Tanf area on the Syrian-Jordanian border, where lived arond 50,000 women, children and men, said the report.

The camp area is controlled by rebel group Liwa Shuhada al-Qaryatayn, which was supposed to evacuate to northern Syria in accordance with a Russian-backed deal, but it didn't.

The rebel-controlled camp has been attacked previously by the Islamic State (IS) more than once.

The UN has repeatedly warned of the dire conditions in Rukban Camp, urging for the delivery of aid to the affected Syrians, who are suffering from cold and lack of basic necessities.

The Syrian government has recently accused the U.S. presence in the nearby Tanf area of hindering the delivery of aid to the camp.
