YANGON, Jan. 30 (Xinhua) -- M Ja Seng, Kachin ethnic national beauty contestant, won a crown for Miss Ethnic Myanmar 2019 which was held here in Myanmar's Yangon late on Tuesday.
A gold crown with eight gems was presented to M Ja Seng, along with 15 million kyats (10,000 U.S. dollars) and she was selected to be an ambassador of Myanmar Ethnics Entrepreneurs Association (MEEA) to promote friendship and peace among ethnic nationals as well as traditional cultures of ethnic nationals.
"I will do what I am assigned to. And I also would like to reach out a hand to conflict victims for peace process," M Ja Seng said.
Chin ethnic national Miss and Kayan ethnic representative Miss managed to grab first runner-up and second runner-up title, respectively.
Some 40 beauty candidates from the country's states and regions took part in Tuesday's Miss Ethnic Myanmar 2019 pageant.
