TUNIS, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- The Tunisian parliament approved Tuesday an agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) for obtaining a loan to improve primary school education in Tunisia.
Speaking at the Assembly of the People's Representatives, Tunisian Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation Zied Laadhari said that the IBRD loan, which is 81.2 million euros (92 million U.S. dollars), will benefit 9,000 children under the age of six, in 12 provinces.
This project aims to benefit Tunisia's primary school education, improve school conditions and deal with the rising rate of school dropouts.
