BERLIN, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Representatives from China and central Asian countries along the Belt and Road route promoted here on Friday their tourist resources.
During the "Belt and Road" Culture and Tourism Forum held at the China Cultural Center Berlin, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and China showcased the latest development in inbound tourism in their respective countries.
Addressing the forum, Chen Jianyang, head of the China Cultural Center Berlin, said the forum is an opportunity for Belt and Road countries to showcase their culture, history and tourist resources, taking the opportunity to invite the Germans to experience the beauty of the "new Silk Road".
Shokhrukh Gulomov, economic attache of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany, told Xinhua: "To join the force of Silk Road countries is a good idea, because a lot of Silk Road countries have common history, similar cultures, and they were very interactive in history."
"As far as I know, a lot of tourists who visit Central Asia go to several countries. For example, tourists to Uzbekistan also want to visit countries like Tajikistan and China," he said.
Gulomov believed that tourism under the initiative of the Belt and Road could draw visitors to the whole map of Silk Road countries, and that cultural and tourism sectors would particularly benefit from the Initiative.
The Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Initiative, proposed in 2013, aims to build a trade and infrastructure network connecting Asia with Europe and Africa along the ancient trade routes of the Silk Road.
