BEIJING, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- China's central government has distributed funds totaling 210 million yuan (about 30.5 million U.S. dollars) to south China's Guangdong Province and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, after the areas were hit by Typhoon Mangkhut.
The funds will be used for relocation, emergency livelihood support and rebuilding damaged homes, according to the Ministry of Emergency Management.
Some 3 million people were affected by the super typhoon, which landed on the coast of the city of Jiangmen in Guangdong on Sept. 16.
China's disaster relief authorities launched a level IV emergency response in the areas and sent multiple workgroups to assist with local disaster relief work.
