CHANGSHA, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- The 2018 China International Food & Catering Expo concluded, with record attendance and contract volume, in the central Chinese city of Changsha on Sunday.
Over 151,000 people visited the four-day event, up 22.2 percent compared to last year, the organizing committee said.
Besides the 13 specialized exhibition areas, the concurrent meat expo and Hunan cuisine ingredient e-commerce festival also attracted a large attendance.
According to the organizers, 22 food companies from northeast China's Heilongjiang Province signed intention agreements totalling nearly 70 million yuan (10.2 million U.S. dollars) with 47 Hunan purchasers.
A tofu producer in Xinhua County reached purchase intentions worth 8 million yuan with purchasers across China at a special industrial poverty-relief fair.
The expo was first held in Changsha, capital of Hunan Province, in 2016.
