TUNIS, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- The Tunisian cereal crop for the current 2017-2018 season reached 14.1 million quintals, as 520,000 hectares were damaged by insufficient rainfall, Tunisian Agriculture Ministry said Tuesday.
The current harvest didn't meet the preliminary forecast of 14.3 million quintals at the beginning of the harvest season.
With a total production of 12.3 million quintals, the provinces in northern Tunisia are the most productive regions in the country. The central and southern provinces produced a total of 1.8 million quintals of cereals.
