BERLIN, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Schalke have completed the transfer of Sebastian Rudy from league rivals Bayern Munich, both clubs announced on Tuesday.
The Germany international has put pen to paper on a four-year deal, which keeps him at Schalke until June 2022.
"We are happy that we could win Sebastian for our path here at Schalke. We get a very intelligent and technically gifted player, who has already proven his skills internationally. We are sure: his qualities and experience will enrich our squad," Schalke head coach Domenico Tedesco said.
Rudy played for Bayern Munich since June 2017 and made ever since 25 appearances, providing four assists and one goal. The 28-year-old new arrival is since 2011 part of Germany's national team where he scored one goal in 26 caps.
"I am convinced of the path the club wants to take and I would like to be part of it. In addition, I am looking forward to the fans and the atmosphere at Schalke," Rudy told the club's official homepage.
Schalke will encounter Hertha Berlin at the second round in Bundesliga on Sunday.
