CHANGCHUN, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Military fans will have the chance to visit air force barracks in Changchun, capital of northeast China's Jilin Province, feasting their eyes on air shows and equipment on Saturday and Sunday.
The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) air force will open the barracks to the public, offering performances such as skydiving, aerobatic flights, model planes and real combat simulations. Visitors can also take a turn in aircraft simulators.
The barracks at the Aviation University of Air Forces will open to visitors who can have an insider's look into students' lives.
Visitors can get free tickets by answering questionnaires or submitting photos of the air force.
The general office of China's Central Military Commission issued a guideline on opening PLA barracks in October 2017, and China this July announced plans to open more than 600 barracks to the public during major festivals and days of commemoration.
According to the plan, barracks of PLA army, navy, air and rocket forces and armed police at the division, brigade, regiment, battalion and company levels will be available for public visits, covering 31 provincial-level regions across the country.
