TOKYO, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares opened lower Monday tracking weaker U.S. stocks late last week.
As of 9:15 a.m. local time, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 122.00 points, or 0.54 percent, from Friday to 22,590.75.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 6.14 points, or 0.35 percent, at 1,769.62.
Decliners were led by electric power and gas, pharmaceutical, and oil and coal product issues.
