Typhoon Maria makes landfall in east China's Fujian

(180711) -- PUTIAN, July 11, 2018 (Xinhua) -- Huge waves beat against the sea shore in Putian, southeast China's Fujian Province, July 11, 2018. Typhoon Maria, the eighth typhoon this year, made landfall at around 9:10 a.m. Wednesday in Lianjiang County, bringing gales of up to 42 meters per second at its eye, according to local meteorological authorities.
