BEIJING, May 19 (Xinhua) -- A recent survey showed that a growing number of Chinese senior citizens are interested in tourism and online shopping.
According to the Survey Report on the Living Conditions of China's Urban and Rural Older Persons (2018), 14.3 percent of Chinese elderly had spent money on tourism and 12.4 percent of them had done online shopping in 2015.
The report said that annual expenditures of urban and rural senior citizens have both increased thanks to higher personal incomes.
A total of 222,700 Chinese aged 60 and above from across the country answered the survey, which was compiled by China Research Center on Aging and published by the Social Sciences Academic Press.
