DHAKA, April 3 (Xinhua) -- China's smartphone producer Vivo officially unveiled its latest flagship smartphone -- Vivo V9 -- at a ceremony held here on Monday night.
The new handset comes with an iPhone X-like notch as well as sports AI (artificial intelligence) selfie features. It comes preloaded with AR Stickers, Face Unlock, and Face Beauty Mode.
"V9 represents our understanding of consumers' need for their mobile camera to automatically create the 'perfect shot' in any scenario. We are excited to introduce the V9's AI power to young consumers in Bangladesh Market," Vivo CEO of Bangladesh Du Baohua said at the ceremony.
"With AI playing a key role, we are confident that we can inspire and empower more consumers globally to express themselves by making the 'perfect shot' easier than ever to take, while the FuIIViewTM display provides consumers with the 'view' to experience their photographic moments of self-expression."
V9 will be available in Bangladesh in Pearl Black and Gold at 29,990 taka (361 U.S.dollars).
Prior to Bangladesh, the new Vivo smartphone was launched in India, Thailand, the Philippines and elsewhere in the world.
The Vivo V9's AI Face Beauty is trained using a comprehensive database of almost 1 million facial images. This allows the V9's AI to detect age, sex, skin texture and skin tone of the subject as well as the lighting environment. It can then apply enhancements in line with the preferences of local users.
Beyond photography, the V9's AI also ensures the best performance by optimizing and supporting the phone's operations with the AI Smart Engine which prioritizes system resources according to user habits.
Founded in 2009, Vivo has quickly expanded into markets in Asia and beyond.
