CHANGCHUN, Jan. 18 (Xinhua) -- Jilin narrowly lost to Shanxi by a single point in the 28th round of the 2017-2018 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Thursday night.
The home side Jilin opened the game with a 31-28 lead before Shanxi snatched the lead at 75-70 in the second quarter.
In the second half, with three-pointers exploding, Shanxi grabbed a double-digit lead. Jilin managed to fight back and cut the gap to a single point, but couldn't rewrite the story at the end and lost the game by the thinnest of margins, 130-129.
Six players scored in the double digits for Shanxi. Luis Scola contributed 25 points and 9 rebounds. Willie Warren pocketed 24 points and had 10 assists. Zeng Lingxu had 13 points, while Li Jingyu scored 18 points. Ren Junwei and Yuan Shuai combined for 12 points and 21 points.
Von Waver scored a game-high 52 points and 8 rebounds. Carl Landry pocketed 29 points and 9 rebounds. Zhang Biao contributed 21 points, while Cui Jinming had 14.
